Resilient Homes

Resilient Homes marks a groundbreaking partnership between MAB and Effective Home, setting a new standard in the industry. This collaboration empowers MAB ARs to engage with their customers as trusted advisors, introducing the concept of Retrofit – a topic that most other brokers currently are unable to address.

This initiative not only enhances customer relationships but also strengthens MAB’s unique value proposition further, positioning them at the forefront of the marketplace.

Transfers heat from the air or ground to heat your home, offering an efficient alternative to traditional heating systems which could save up to £340 a year off your energy bills.

How It Works

After discussing the financial benefits of energy efficiency and the customer’s interest in retrofitting, the AR completes the lead form on their dedicated landing page, this will then drive the customer into the Resilient Homes Proposition with MAB and Effective Home.

This includes:

  1. A call within 24-48 hours from Effective Home who will complete a house consultation with the customer to understand what their property is suitable for and what would benefit them the most.
  2. At the end of this call, the customer will book in their specialist consultation at their conveinience
  3. The customer will sit their consultation over the phone, or where necessary in home with the specialist, who will discuss the options available to the customer the cost involved and the savings. At the end of this the customer will be provided with a bespoke quote. Which is valid for 28 days.
  4. If the customer wishes to lock in their price they will need to place a £500 deposit. The customer should discuss their options with their broker and confirm when this deposit has been placed, so the broker can liaise with the lender and set up next steps. Deposit is only refundable in the case of the funding not completing or failing tech survey.
  5. If the customer hasn’t responded to their quote within 21 days of receiving it, Effective Home will communicate with the broker directly to let them know that the customer has only 7 days left of their quote.
  6. Effective will automatically clear a lead once the remortgage date has passed. This would mean that the customer would have to go back through the process past this date.
  7. Once the funds have been received the customer will book in their installation with Effective. Please note, the customer must use Effective for their installation as per the agreement with the lender.
  8. Effective will take care of the full process and installation.

If the customer is undecided, reference materials can be provided for review before the next appointment.

Key Contacts

Karina Gerdes

karina.gerdes@mab.org.uk

In my role as Head of MAB Resilient Homes, I lead the development and execution of sustainable housing strategies that focus on energy efficiency retrofitting financed through secured lending. Right now, this means supporting our early adopter Firms who have chosen to offer the new “Resilient Homes” proposition to their customers and help them integrate it into their BAU processes.

I work closely with Sam and the wider Effective Energy Group team, various internal departments, and external partners to expand MAB’s presence in the green housing sector, supporting our clients in their journey toward decarbonising their homes. My responsibilities include delivering the Resilient Homes proposition, supporting AR Firms who are interested in integrating Resilient Homes into their business, collaborating with lending partners to develop suitable green products, and consumers and advisors in relation to green mortgages and energy efficiency.

Sam McGeorge

sam.mcgeorge@effectivehome.co.uk

I joined Effective Energy Group in August 2024 as a Client Success Specialist with the sole purpose to work with MAB on this partnership. My role alongside with Karina is to support each of the firms with any advice, training or queries they may have around the proposition and to take any feedback on board, so we can review and enhance our approach and processes as and when required. As part of the pilot we have been providing joint presentations to brokers to provide an understanding of the partnership and who Effective Energy Group are. We do not expect AR’s to become Retrofit Experts but we will provide them with the basic knowledge they require to confidently discuss the
potential benefits of energy efficiency with their clients.
